Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger are the guests on the newest installment of the Lipps Service podcast, speaking with host Scott Lipps about performing at the final Black Sabbath concert last month, being a woman in rock music today, their early years as a family band and the grind of surviving the industry.

They open up about 20 years of Halestorm, bucket list goals (including fronting Skid Row) and why Iron Maiden might just be the best band of the ’80s. The conversation gets personal with stories about their new album, Everest, working with Dave Cobb and their hit “Like a Woman Can.”

The episode also covers inside tales about Halestorm’s Grammy wins, meeting Katy Perry, playing London’s Wembley Stadium and their prognosis for Spinal Tap II.

On the previous episode of Lipps Service, the Cult’s Ian Astbury held forth about his stints with that band and its offshoots Southern Death Cult and Death Cult, his time in a revamped version of the Doors and the making of the Cult’s Rick Rubin-produced Electric.

Since it began in 2018, the acclaimed podcast has featured many of the biggest voices and personalities in music, including exclusive interviews with Anthony Kiedis, David Lee Roth, Hozier, Maynard James Keenan, the Police’s Stewart Copeland, Mick Fleetwood, Nikki Sixx, Dove Cameron, Perry Farrell, the Kills and many more. Every few weeks, a new episode of SPIN Presents Lipps Service is available wherever you listen to podcasts.
